Song for the Light
During an activity in the Transcendent Leadership class, groups took turns invoking the Light and doing spiritual exercises together. After that everyone was asked to do something creative. It was a beautiful atmosphere for expression. Some wrote in their journals. One woman went outside and danced. I got my guitar and recorded a Song for the Light. It was simply me putting chords, melody, and words on a prayer from the heart. Such a simple approach to creativity! Often when I attempt songwriting my head gets in the way: I have expectations. I’m trying to fit a form. I’m constantly editing and correcting.
Not this time. I just let out what was present. I’ll share the recording here. Perhaps it will inspire your own creative expression.
